“I Really Like You (Music Video)” – Carly Rae Jepsen
What is it about 2015 that has musicians rising from the ashes? Carly Rae Jepsen has broken out of One Hit Wonderland and returned to the land of the living, equipped with a new single. Carly has gone from missing people she has never met to really, really, really, really, really liking Tom Hanks. The music video for Jepsen’s new song “I Really Like You” was uploaded to YouTube March 6. The video depicts a very middle aged Tom Hanks traveling through the city, smiling and shaking hands on his way to dance with Carly Rae. “I Really Like You” isn’t as terribly annoying as Jepsen’s former hit “Call Me Maybe”, but it does further reiterate the sentiment that all one needs to be a pop sensation is a synthesized beat and one word repeated over and over and over. However, Carly’s song never touched the iTunes Top 10 Singles, proving that true musicianship still lives. The music video for “I Really Like You” can be viewed via YouTube, and the single is available for purchase on iTunes.
“Insurgent (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)” – Various Artists
The second installment in the Divergent series, hits theaters March 20th, but the soundtrack for Insurgent is available for your listening pleasure now. Released March 17, the full-length soundtrack is not so full length. The album is shorter than Shailene Woodley’s hair, consisting of only eight tracks – half of what was found on the Divergent soundtrack. Is that a sign that Insurgent will only be half as good as it’s predecessor? Although the soundtrack doesn’t present a multitude of tracks, it does include tracks by indie stars such as HAIM and Imagine Dragons. The songs from Insurgent (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) are available for purchase on iTunes.
