Tonight was another first for The Mast Radio Hour.

We welcomed co-hosts Paris Franklin and Samantha Lund as new members of our radio broadcast team.  Samantha is the Editor in Chief of The Mast and Mast Magazine, and Paris is a copy editor for The Mast and frequently helps with Mast TV, both on and off screen.

David Leon also joined us tonight working mostly behind the scenes to make sure we are running the show on time.

Our top stories tonight were the musical tastes of PLU students compared to national statistics,  as well as safety on college campuses in light of the most recent school shootings.

But perhaps the most exciting part of tonight’s show is when the ladies of HERmonic, PLU’s all female acapella group, joined us in the studio for a live studio performance and candid interviews. The ladies sang Bonnie Raitt’s “I Can’t Make You Love Me” and Kelly Clarkson’s “Heartbeat”. Make sure you catch the ladies of HERmonic perming live with the boys of PLUtonic, PLU’s all male acapella group, Tuesday, Nov. 3, at 8 pm in Lagerquist Concert Hall. Tickets are free for the event, and can be picked up at the Concierge Desk in the University Center.

We hope you’ll join us next week for The Mast Radio Hour, Tuesdays at 9 pm, on LASR.

Thanks for listening!
