A Western Washington storm warning has been issued by the National Weather Service starting the evening of Wednesday, Oct. 12 through the weekend.
Heavy rains can be overwhelming for the Tacoma stormwater system causing city streets and low areas to flood according to City of Tacoma. Fallen leaves clogging the drains is often the lead cause of street flooding. To help prevent potential flooding issues, residents can do their best to dispose of leaves or yard waste that blocks streets and storm drains.
What to do about a clogged storm drain causing street flooding:
·         Use a rake, broom or stick to try to clear the blockage
·         Do not wade into large puddles of water
·         If you cannot clear the blockage, or you see a storm drain that is not working properly, please report flooding problems to (253) 591-5585

We at The Mast will be curled up in bed watching Netflix and drinking back-to-back cups of tea..maybe we’ll do homework. We haven’t quite decided yet.
