2/7 Hinderlie Fire Alarm

Date: Tuesday, February 7, 2017
Time: 12:00 AM
Location: Hinderlie Residence Hall
Description: Campus Safety and Central Pierce Fire & Rescue responded to a fire alarm in Hinderlie Residence Hall. Upon arrival, firefighters identified the source of the alarm but a cause for the activation could not be determined. The alarm was reset and all residents were allowed to return to their rooms.

 

2/8 Pflueger Medical Aid

Time: 12:59 AM
Location: Pflueger Residence Hall
Description: Campus Safety officers responded to Pflueger Residence Hall for a medical aid call involving a student experiencing difficulty breathing, slow stuttering speech, and tremors. Central Pierce Fire & Rescue responded and determined it was not necessary to transport the student to the hospital.

 

2/8 Grounds Vandalism

Date: Wednesday, February 8, 2017
Time: 8:30 AM
Location: 8th Ave Ct S & Wheeler St S between Mary Baker Russell Music Center and Ingram Hall
Description: PLU Grounds staff reported graffiti written on the bollards at the Wheeler curve near Mary Baker Russell Music Center and Ingram Hall. Photos were taken and Facilities Management will be contacted for removal.

 

2/8 Xavier Theft

Date: Wednesday, February 8, 2017
Time: 1:17 AM
Location: Xavier Floor 1 Office Wing
Description: Campus Safety received a report from staff in Xavier that numerous files had been removed without permission from a file cabinet in the first floor office wing. The missing documents are not sensitive in nature. The time frame is unknown for when the files could have been taken and no suspect information is available at this time.

 

2/9 South Hall Smoke Alarm

Date: Thursday, February 9, 2017
Time: 10:30 AM
Location: South Residence Hall
Description: Campus Safety responded to South Residence Hall for a smoke alarm sounding in a room. The resident was not present when Campus Safety officers arrived. Officers entered the room and found the stove, with a hot pan on the burner. The stove was turned off, windows opened, and the smoke alarms reset. After a few minutes the smoke cleared and officers cleared the scene.

 

2/10 Library Lot Vehicle Collision

Date: Friday, February 10, 2017
Time: 12:30 PM
Location: Library Parking Lot, Northeast corner
Description: A campus guest came into the Campus Safety office to report that he accidentally struck another vehicle while parking in the Library Lot. Campus Safety officers identified the owner of the vehicle that was struck as a student, who was then notified of the incident. The driver left contact information on the student’s vehicle and Campus Safety officers photographed the damage.

 

2/11 Pflueger Drug Violation

Date: Saturday, February 11, 2017
Time: 11:15 PM
Location: Pflueger Residence Hall, Floor 1 West
Description: During a routine walk through of Pflueger Hall, Campus Safety officers noticed the smell of marijuana on the first floor west wing. Officers were able to narrow the source of the smell to a particular room. Residential Life was contacted to assist Campus Safety with a student-led room search. The residents performed the room search while the other people in the room were asked to step out into the hallway. A search of the room yielded a marijuana pipe, marijuana residue, and a lighter. The items were confiscated and disposed of in accordance with PLU policy. This incident has been forwarded to Student Rights & Responsibilities for review.

 

2/11 Stuen Alcohol Violation

Date: Saturday, February 11, 2017
Time: 2:15 AM
Location: Stuen Residence Hall
Description: While conducting a walk-through of Stuen Residence Hall, Campus Safety officers came upon a room with an open door. They observed several beer cans on a desk. Residential Life was contacted to assist Campus Safety in a student-led room search. Prior to the search the occupants volunteered additional alcohol stored in the room. The search yielded no further violations. The alcohol and containers were disposed of in accordance with PLU policy. This incident has been forwarded to Student Rights & Responsibilities for review.

 

2/12 Stuen Alcohol Violation

Date: Sunday, February 12, 2017
Time: 2:10 AM / 3:00 AM
Location: Stuen Residence Hall
Description: At 2:10 AM, a Campus Safety video officer noticed a group of individuals on camera who were potentially intoxicated and appeared to be carrying alcohol. A cursory walk-through of Stuen Residence Hall by Campus Safety officers yielded an alcohol violation in the room of the females seen on video. At 3:00 AM, further review of video footage and LuteCard access activity of the group led to the identification of two other rooms as the living quarters of the involved male individuals. Campus Safety contacted Residential Life to assist in a student-led room search of both spaces. The occupants were cooperative in the searches of their respective rooms. The search yielded no alcohol policy violations. This incident has been forwarded to Student Rights & Responsibilites for review.
