1/23 Rieke Theft from Office

Date: Monday, January 23, 2017
Time: 12:00 PM
Location: Rieke Science Center, Faculty Office
Description: A staff member contacted Campus Safety to report that her wallet had been stolen. She stated that she was sure she locked the office door and did not know how someone would enter. A suspicious male was seen in Rieke earlier in the day but Campus Safety officers could not locate anyone based on the description.

 

1/23 Hauge Theft from Office

Time: 3:00 PM
Location: Hauge Administration Building, Faculty Office
Description: A faculty member reported to Campus Safety that her wallet had been stolen out of her office. She said she left her office with the door shut and returned to find her purse missing. The purse was later found in another room with the wallet missing. No suspect information is available.

 

1/23 UC Lot Smoking Violation

Date: Monday, January 23, 2017
Time: 3:00 PM
Location: University Center Parking Lot, North End
Description: Four non-students were observed possibly smoking in the University Center Lot. When contacted, they refused to provide identification or give their names. One of the subjects stated they were on campus for a dance class. The group of four left the scene in two separate vehicles, neither of which were registered to PLU students.

 

1/23 121st St. Vehicle Vandalism

Location: 121st St. S, North Side at Blomquist House
Description: A student reported two separate incidents of vandalism to her vehicle (egged and keyed) that occurred over several days while it was parked at two separate locations. The student suspects a friend’s ex-boyfriend is responsible but there is no evidence leading to him. Video review is ongoing.

 

1/27 Olson Medical Aid

Date: Friday, January 27, 2017
Time: 6:30 PM
Location: Olson Auditorium
Description: Campus Safety responded to the Olson Gym regarding a campus guest at the basketball game who was in need of medical aid. The family had already contacted Central Pierce Fire & Rescue minutes prior. Central Pierce Fire & Rescue made the decision to transport the patient to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tacoma.

 

1/28 Ordal Medical Aid/Drug Violation

Date: Saturday, January 28, 2017
Time: 1:45 AM
Location: Ordal Residence Hall
Description: Campus Safety responded to Ordal to assist the on-duty Resident Assistant in contacting a room with uncooperative occupants for a noise complaint. The on-duty Resident Director was also notified. Campus Safety identified the occupants as students. It was discovered that one student was in need of medical aid due to consuming a combination of narcotics. Central Pierce Fire & Rescue responded and transported [the student] to St. Claire Hospital. A variety of narcotics paraphernalia were located in the room. This incident has been forwarded to Student Rights & Responsibilities for review.

 

1/29 Pflueger Drug Violation

Date: Sunday, January 29, 2017
Time: 1:00 AM
Location: Pflueger Residence Hall
Description: During routine patrol of Pflueger, Campus Safety officers discovered the smell of alcohol outside a room and overheard audible cues of alcohol consumption. Residential Life was notified of incident. Campus Safety and Residential Life staff made contact with the residents as well as other Pfleuger residents. Upon contact, alcohol was visible in the room, and a student led room search led to the discovery of marijuana and marijuana paraphernalia. All drugs and alcohol were disposed of in accordance with policy. This incident has been forwarded to Student Rights & Responsibilities for review.
