3/6 Harstad Fire Alarm

Date: Monday, March 6, 2017
Time: 12:50 PM
Location: Harstad Residence Hall
Description: A sprinkler water flow alarm was activated in Harstad Residence Hall. The alarm was caused by a dry sprinkler air compressor malfunction. The PLU alarm tech arrived to diagnose the problem, and an outside contractor will be coming to fix the issue. No Fire Department response was needed for this alarm.

 

3/6 U.C. Computer Theft

Location: Anderson University Center, Residential Life Office Suite
Description: PLU Residential Life reported that an iMac computer was stolen from the office suite over the weekend. A sheriff’s theft report was taken on the incident.

 

3/7 Tingelstad Alcohol Violation

Date: Tuesday, March 7, 2017
Time: 12:15 AM
Location: Tingelstad Residence Hall
Description: Campus Safety responded to assist a Resident Assistant with an odor of marijuana investigation. The residents of the room were contacted and a student-led room search discovered alcohol but no marijuana. This incident has been sent to Student Rights & Responsibilities for review.

 

3/7 Olson Medical Aid

Date: Tuesday, March 7, 2017
Time: 10:00 PM
Location: Olson Auditorium, Main Auditorium
Description: Campus Safety was called to Olson Gym for a medical aid. Upon officer arrival it was discovered that a PLU alumnus had dislocated his knee while playing basketball. Central Pierce Fire & Rescue was called and administered aid. Transport was not needed after the knee popped back into place.

 

3/8 125th St Suspicious Activity

Date: Wednesday, March 8, 2017
Time: 12:15 AM
Location: 125th St S & Park Ave S
Description: The Campus Safety video officer observed two males at the intersection of 125th St S and Park Ave S acting suspicious. The males were met by another male in a vehicle, and some sort of exchange was made. The vehicle left prior to Campus Safety officer arrival. Campus Safety officers attempted to make contact with the two males on foot but they fled the area. A search of the area where the men were standing revealed illegal drugs. One male was later found and questioned near Garfield Station but he fled again, away from campus. The drugs were taken to the Campus Safety office where they were later turned over to Pierce County Sheriff’s deputies.

 

3/8 Track Medical Aid

Location: Athletic Track
Description: Central Pierce Fire & Rescue responded to campus to assist a student who had suffered a seizure after a run. Medics transported the student to the hospital.

 

3/8 O.M.M. Shoplifting

Date: Wednesday, March 8, 2017
Time: 3:30 PM
Location: Anderson University Center, Old Main Market
Description: Campus Safety officers responded to the lower Anderson University Center area on a report that two Keithley Middle School students had stolen some items from the Old Main Market. The student were stopped and an ice cream cone was recovered. The students left the area after providing their names. A follow up will be conducted with the Keithley Middle School Resource Officer.

 

3/11 Baseball Medical Aid

Date: Saturday, March 11, 2017
Time: 1:00 PM
Location: Baseball Field, Spectator Stands
Description: Central Pierce Fire & Rescue responded to the baseball field where a non-PLU spectator had been struck in the arm by a foul ball while sitting in the stands. She left in a private vehicle after being evaluated by firefighters. Campus Safety officers gathered incident information from PLU staff who were at the scene.

 

3/12 Stuen Medical Aid

Date: Sunday, March 12, 2017
Time: 12:30 AM
Location: Stuen Residence Hall
Description: While on routine patrol, Campus Safety officers noticed that a Central Pierce Fire & Rescue apparatus was in the West Hauge parking lot, responding to Stuen Residence Hall. Campus Safety officers joined firefighters to escort them into Stuen Hall, where a student had called 911 because another student was vomiting after consuming alcohol off-campus. Residential Life was notified. Firefighters evaluated the student and determined that transport to a hospital was not required. This incident has been forwarded to Student Rights & Responsibilities for review.
