Last week it was Kesha vs. Dr. Luke, and this week it’s Iggy Azalea vs. Snoop Dogg. But unlike Kesha and Dr. Luke’s legal battle, Iggy and Snoop’s feud is a battle over social media.

Iggy Azalea, as we all know by now, is a 24-year-old Australian rapper, new to the states with hits like “Fancy” (feat. Charlie XCX) and “Black Widow,” (feat. Rita Ora), both of which have been unescapable this year.

Snoop Dogg is a 43-year-old, California-born rapper whose career began in 1992 and has been famous ever since for countless hits and his 14 albums.

If you haven’t heard of the beef between the “Fancy” singer Iggy Azalea and Snoop D-O-Double-G, here’s your history lesson:

Snoop began the feud on Sunday Oct. 12, posting a meme on Instagram mocking Iggy with the caption “Iggy Azalea No Make Up.” As you may have guessed, the photo is not of Iggy. It’s a random and extremely unattractive photo Snoop found online.

Then, unsurprisingly, Iggy was extremely upset. Instead of taking to Instagram to fire back, Iggy took the fight to a new social media, using Twitter to leave Snoop a string of angry tweets – that she later deleted.

In her tweets, Iggy describes her confusion over Snoop’s post since they have always been on friendly terms.

TMZ then reported a story that Iggy was “FUMING MAD over Snoop’s Insta Slam.” She responded with a tweet: “lol, I wish writers exaggerated the positive **** going on in this world too. I’m not ‘fuming mad’ at anyone.”

Whether Iggy was mad or not, Snoop responded with another Instagram post this time with the caption “So says Todd cool out lil sis he was only jokin Sike. Ub**chu !!” with a photo meme of himself dressed in glasses and a blonde wig that said “Snoop Dogg & Iggy Azalea beef?!”

After that, Snoop continued to post photos against Iggy on Instagram which he never deleted in spite of Iggy repeatedly deleted her tweets in response.

Snoop’s last post was captioned with “Now I said what I said b**ch now let it go before I go all in on ya pink punk *** yeah u b**ch !!”

Which of course, made Iggy even more upset. In turn, she sent out two tweets that she once again deleted. One, saying, “Grow up and God Bless,” and another a meme of Snoop selfie saying “When your drug addict aunt gets clean.”

However right or wrong the photo posts on both sides were, they were hilarious!

Iggy then tweeted again explaining why she felt the need to delete her tweets — “I know you got the memo” — and defend herself one last time against the initial meme posted by Snoop.

Rapper T.I. intervened the feud.  T.I. is a 33-year-old Georgia-born rapper, known for his numerous hit singles like “Bring Em Out.”

T.I. told MTV News he had to intervene once the feud become a topic of public discussion.

“It stopped being between two people and it was being observed by the world,” T.I. said,  “and it was almost like people were tuning in just to see what was happening next.”

To intervene, T.I., who is a collaborator with Snoop and serves as Iggy’s mentor, called Snoop. In turn, Snoop assured T.I. that it was over.

Thanks to T.I.’s stepping-in, the war between rappers has been declared over, but as Iggy showed at the LAX airport on Oct. 24, the two are still on bad terms.

When asked at LAX if she would collaborate with Snoop on a song she laughed off the suggestion, saying “Would you if you were in my shoes?”

To put it fairly, both sides were wrong in using social media, especially while having their caliber of fame, to fight their fights, but I have to back up Iggy on this one. Snoop started the feud in the wrong by mocking another person’s looks publicly, to millions of followers.

But in his defense, Snoop is infamous for smoking crazy amounts of marijuana, so who knows what he was thinking when he posted the initial photo.

So now it’s just a waiting game to see which rapper is going to push the other’s buttons first, and I have to admit it, I can’t wait to see another fight break out between them.
