If you missed the show last week’s show, here’s what we covered.
We talked about what we did for Thanksgiving, and what Lutes on campus did with Empty Bowls to help feed the hungry and indigent in our community, and other ways our fellow students are helping out the community this time of the year.
Guest anchor David Leon did a great interview with junior Theo Hoffrening about the silent protest that was held two weeks ago in Red Square. Organizers from the Diversity Center as well as other students came together to stand in solidarity with the football team of Mizou and other groups at the university who are standing up against racism. Theo also talked about what the group of students hope to accomplish here at PLU in regards to race relations.
Paris talked about the Advent calendar on the PLU website and just a few events going on around campus, including Advent services and Christmas concerts.
We also talked about the recent candlelight vigil held during Evening Prayer, where more than 40 students and staff came together to hold candles and pray for peace in Paris, Beirut and Baghdad, and other places that have seen violence. We closed out the show with talking about our ROTC programs recent competition in Oregon.
