Karen Marie Orsted, better known by her stage name MØ, is a 27 year old singer from Denmark. MØ released her first album “No Mythologies to Follow” in 2014, featuring her Spice Girl cover “Say You’ll Be There” and her hits “Maiden” and “Don’t Wanna Dance.”
She gained major international fame collaborating with Major Lazer and Diplo on “Lean On,” which was one of the biggest hits of the summer.
“Kamikaze,” the first single from her upcoming album, was released Oct. 15. The song premiered on BBC Radio 1 Oct. 14 and was instantly named “Hottest Record in the World” by renowned radio DJ Annie Mac.
The song is another collab with Diplo that proves he and MO make a great team and leaves us with high expectations for the album.
MO describes her music as experimental pop with no boundaries.
“I love pop music, but I think it’s all about trying to push the borders in some way. Like trying to create something new […] and bring something new to the table,” MØ said.
She says the upcoming album is a work in progress, and a release date has not yet been set.
You can hear MØ and other exciting and talented artists every Tuesday 8-9 a.m. on Thomas & Molly in the Morning on Mast Radio.
