Dear Editor,

Reading your recent editorial, I am grateful for the courage and forthrightness of Matthew Salzano and Brooke Thomas. Ā (ā€˜Letter from our Editors: Ā Reporting boldlyā€™ by Matthew Salzano & Brooke Thames, Mast Media, Nov. 18, 2016) Ā It is this kind of spirit that creates a better community and world. Ā Telling stories ā€œbecause it is how the voices of the unheard can have a lasting impactā€ is why I write this letter. Ā In our world today, over 100 million children and adolescents donā€™t have a chance at an education. Ā Seeing this, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the Education for All Act. Ā Now it is up to the Senate. Ā We can each speak on behalf of these millions of children by calling our senators and asking them to pass the Education for All Act (S. 3256). Ā Take an action to make the world a better place: Ā call Senator Murray atĀ (202) 224-2621Ā and Senator Cantwell atĀ (202) 224-3441, or of course you can tweet, email them, or leave a message on their website, or Facebook. Ā Interested in making the world a better place through democratic action like this? Ā See RESULTS,Ā results.org, and check out the Tacoma group or the Real Change Scholar program. Ā Each of us has a voice that can be used to create a better world.
