2/22 Stuen Medical Aid

Date: Wednesday, February 22, 2017
Time: 7:45 PM
Location: Stuen Residence Hall
Description: Campus Safety responded to assist a student who accidentally cut his hand with scissors while working on a project. Campus Safety officers bandaged the wound. Central Pierce Fire & Rescue was declined. The student advised that he would visit the PLU Health Center for follow-up.

 

2/24 Stolen Vehicle Recovery

Date: Friday, February 24, 2017
Time: 2:00 PM
Location: Either 124th St. S & 10th Ave. S, or Wheeler St. S near the Wang Center.
Description: While on patrol, Campus Safety officers noticed a vehicle on 124th St. S just east of 10th Ave. S that appeared to have been stripped and abandoned. With the assistance of the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department, the vehicle was traced back a PLU student who had filed a report with Campus Safety regarding the theft of his car days earlier.

 

2/25 Baseball Psychological Medical Aid

Date: Saturday, February 25, 2017
Time: 12:45 AM
Location: Baseball Field Bleachers
Description: While on routine patrol, Campus Safety officers were flagged-down by a student who was concerned for the safety of her friend who expressed suicidal ideation. Campus Safety officers and an off-duty Pierce County Sheriff’s deputy working for PLU located the individual on the bleachers near the baseball field. Officers assessed the individual’s current psychological state and found that they were no threat to themselves. Campus Safety officers and Residential Life staff spoke further with the student to develop next steps related to speaking with a counselor.
