Check your CAPP report.

The first step to preparing for graduation is being certain you are eligible to recieve your degree. All PLU students can generate a CAPP report via BannerWeb, which details students’ current progress toward the completion of all major and minor degrees. CAPP reports also show cumulative credits, major and minor GPA, and cumulative GPA. To generate a CAPP report, log into BannerWeb and navigate to the Student Records section under the Student Services tab. Here you can click the CAPP report option and generate a new report with the Generate New Report feature.

Know the application dates.

You had to apply to get in, and now you have to apply to get out. All graduate and undergraduate students must submit an application for graduation. The application can be found on BannerWeb in the Student Records section under the Student Services tab. Students must pay a fee of $100, which is charged directly to their student account. The application deadline for spring commencement is March 1, and the deadline for summer commencement is June 1.

Get your regalia ordered.

Look out for an email notification near April about ordering your gown, hood and tassel online. Students are responsible for ordering and paying for their own required attire. PLU then hosts a Grad Fair May 22 and 23 in the AUC Regency Room where soon-to-be grads can pick up their regalia orders.

Invite friends and family to WA for the big day.

Spring commencement takes place 2:30 p.m. May  26 at the Tacoma Dome. Tickets are not required, leaving students free to invite their own number of guests. Be prompt in sending out your own invitations to friends, family and others who have helped you along your college journey. Sending invitations early gives guests time to arrange travel and lodging if necessary. Don’t forget to send them a wallet-sized graduation portrait while you’re at it.
