A locker room is a main staple of a sports teams as it’s a place for the players to not only keep their things, but also a place for them to interact with each other.
The Pacific Lutheran locker room is about to get a huge upgrade. Head football coach Brant McAdams is one of the people spearheading this project.
“Adam Frye and I have been the athletic voices and I’ll be as big a part as I need to be,” said McAdams.
The upgrade will be made to the men’s locker room and will be used by football and cross country in the fall, and track and field and football in the spring said McAdams.
When asked about what sort of impact this will have on athletics as a whole, McAdams said “I think it’s going to be a tremendous addition to the athletic department, recruiting, experience and retention of athletes.”
Continuing on about the impact, McAdams said “Building stronger bonds and keeping the same group it is important. We are proud of who we are and how we operate, both the university and alumni support it and we’ll try and make it happen.”
With such a big project like this, McAdams also touched upon what sort of fundraising would be done, he said “The university has funded half of the project, and we as a department will fund the second half.”
When asked about what other projects are in the works, McAdams said “Not at the moment, but this is a stepping stone for a lot of people’s vision of improved athletics facilities, and it’s a part of a larger conversation for bigger athletic facilities.”
