Yves Tumor: Heaven to a Tortured Mind (2020, Warp Records): Tumor’s second with Warp records reenvisons glam rock, funk, R&B and jazz. Aesthetically, the album turns heads too with its gothic artwork. Listen to Kerosene!, Strawberry Privilege, and Gospel for a New Century.

Jacob Mann: 106 (2020, One Minute Records): Mann explores ambient layering and classic jazz rhythms. The 21 minute collection of music features Mann on his trusty Roland Juno 106. Whether it’s for relaxing, studying or focusing, 106 does it all. Listen to Tantalum, Pier Walk, and Ziti.

Dinosaur Jr.: Dinosaur (1985, Homestead Records): Dinosaur Jr. ‘s debut album displays their unique position as a folk-punk band, blending Neil Young’s stream of conscious lyrics with the cadence of Black Flag. A collection of emotional vulnerable Big Muff guitar lines and thumping bass, every song hits your chest. Listen to The Leper, Forget the Swan and Severed Lips.

Look out for Fulton’s Music Room in the next issue of the mast. In the meantime, listen to his weekly radio shows Ambient Hour (Tuesdays: 9 p.m. to 10 p.m.) and Dead-Air (Saturdays: 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.). Every first Saturday of the month, Fulton hosts Planet Groove with Felix Halvorson 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Tune in at plu.edu/lasr.
