After being absent from the PLU Commons for the fall semester, the ice cream machine is back and feeling good. We caught up with the ice cream machine after the enthralled fans cleared and chatted about their perspective on their time off.
“I deserve a break. I’m more than just a kitchen appliance. I’m a lifestyle,” they said. The ice cream machine’s stay in Italy has reignited what it truly means to study away for PLU appliances.
“Study away is a pillar of our culture here at PLU,” said Patty Lee of the Wang Center, wiping vanilla ice cream from their face. “It’s always great to have our kitchen appliances return from such a fulfilling study away.”
Kitchen appliances haven’t been allowed to go abroad since the incident of ‘09, but the ice cream machine has shown that even Lutes can change. “I don’t know why they’re pretending like they’re so different now. Having low-fat frozen yogurt doesn’t make you European,” said third-year kinesiology major David Burbur.
In the wake of the ice cream machine’s absence, OMM’s Frazil has become the campus’s favorite frozen food. How their relationship will turn out is anyone’s guess. Will it be friendship or rivalry? Time will tell. More updates to come as this story continues.
