Folks of the small town in Sweden were not expecting any unusual occurrences on the evening of January 29, when Anders Andersson IV was found in the town square without signs of life. As the investigation went on, some intimate secrets were brought to the surface putting the town’s families in uncertain positions…

Lutes of all ages and interests gathered in the Scandinavian Center on Monday, January 29, to play out the murder mystery written by Maddie Lamwers. She advertised the event weeks prior through posters and tabling in the AUC.

Students attended the murder mystery fully in character – dressed in the 70’s style, speaking with accents, and acting the way their assigned characters would. Everyone enjoyed free snacks and a drink bar, located next to the ‘corner shop’

Through several rounds of the play, students learned more about Anders’ death from the officer, Lamwers, or by talking to each other. When the time for pointing fingers came, the dominating theories on who would want to kill Anders turned out to be very close to the correct answer.

Everyone enjoyed participating in the murder mystery and letting their creative side out for a bit. Lamwers is considering writing a sequel to this story, so be on a watch out for a Murder Mystery in a small Swedish town 2.0.
