Meet Charlie! He’s the office supervisor in the College of Professional Studies Dean’s Office.
Charlie often accompanies his mom, Abby, in the main office of Ingram while she works as the Senior Administrative Assistant and Coordinator of Educational
Outreach Programs. He loves coming to work with her, and especially loves meeting and greeting Lutes of all kinds that stop by the office. Especially the ones that know his favorite scratch spot (lower back).
As much as he may look like it, Charlie is not a dachshund, and instead a mix between a Rat Terrier and a Chihuahua. His parents even gave him a DNA test last year and found out he’s a “super mutt” — consisting of 13 different breeds!
Originally from Texas with the name “Dirk,” Charlie is about 9 years old, and has always had that white, ‘old man’ look. His energy, however, differs greatly from his appearance. One of his first (and favorite) tasks of the workday is running full speed into the office to greet his office aunts and uncles (Liza, Brittany and Dean Bennett). If you come say “hi” to him, chances are, he’ll come up to greet you (if it’s earlier in the day) or continue his napping (if it’s later), but one thing for certain is that he will always accept pets.
Keep a lookout on campus for Charlie and feel free to say “hi.”
