A new boxing gym, Brito’s Boxing, opened in Parkland in August 2025, offering a space for both beginners and experienced fighters to train, build confidence, and get in shape. The gym, owned and operated by an experienced boxing coach, brings something new to the area’s fitness scene.
The owner’s son, Brian, who helps in the gym, shared the family’s story. “Since we were little kids, my parents wanted to train kids and get involved in sports. Me, my brother, and my siblings started in Taekwondo, then moved on to kickboxing, MMA, and now we’re focused strictly on boxing. That’s our main focus now.”
Located near the PLU campus, Brito’s Boxing offers classes for people of all skill levels. Whether someone wants to get fitter, learn self-defense, or compete in boxing, the gym has a program for them. “We’re friendly and outgoing,” he said. “If someone is nervous or unsure what to do, we help them get comfortable so they can train good.”
The gym isn’t just about boxing. Cardio and Zumba classes are available for those looking to improve fitness, lose weight, or relieve stress. “These classes help people get the results they want,” he said. “If someone comes in strictly to lose weight, we can help with that, and we hope they see results over time.”
A defining feature of Brito’s Boxing is its strong sense of community. “We push people to their limits, encourage them to give 100%, and not to quit,” he said. Kids’ classes make it a family-friendly environment where people of all ages can participate and thrive.
The most rewarding part of running the gym, he explained, has been seeing the impact on the kids. “[Parents] see their kids getting better and everything, and it’s more of a family thing now. They come, and they really like it, and [once] they’ve been here for months, they just start being super outgoing.”
Since opening, the gym has seen a steady influx of new members, including many children, reflecting the community’s enthusiastic response. With its positive vibe, family-oriented programs, and focus on personal growth and fitness, the gym is becoming more than just a place to work out—it’s becoming a real community hub.
