It’s been fifteen years since the ’90s waved goodbye, but one LASR DJ is still partying like it’s 1999.

Senior Asia B. Wolfe is bringing PLU students back via old-school tunes on her evening broadcast show, “Booty Twitch.”

A self-proclaimed music enthusiast, Wolfe pursued becoming a DJ out of her desire to share the music she loves with a broader audience. She received her first LASR show, “Really Cool Music,” as a junior.

“I love being able to contribute to the artistic climate of PLU,” Wolfe said.

Wolfe is now the DJ of “Booty Twitch,” an evening LASR program that airs on Fridays. “Booty Twitch” features tunes from what Wolfe calls the ‘Golden Age” of music, 1997-2005.

“I love the late 90’s and early 2000’s,” Wolfe said. “That time was just much simpler. Everything just felt right.”

Wolfe reflects that feeling with the tracks that she plays on her show. “Booty Twitch” consists of R&B, Pop, and Hip-Hop from that nostalgic age of music.

The title of the show even speaks for the kinds of artists one can find on Wolfe’s show.

“’Booty Twitch’ [means] you will want to shake your booty to it,” Wolfe said.

By DJing with LASR Wolfe aims to take Lutes back to the good old days by playing the “classics” of our generation.

“I bring up tunes that you have forgotten that you loved, and will introduce you to ones that you are sure to love in the future,” Wolfe said.

Booty Twitch airs at 5 p.m. Fridays. Listeners can tune into the show at www.plu.edu/studentmedia/lasr.
