Meet Resident Assistant Professor of Physics, Professor Sean O’Neil. Professor O’Neil focuses on high-energy astrophysics, numerical hydrodynamics, black hole physics and visualization of 3D Data.

I caught up with Professor O’Neil and asked him what he is listening to.

What was the last song or album you listened to?
Penny Sparkle (album) by Blonde Redhead.

Who’s your favorite musician and/or band?
Stereolab.

What did you listen to in college?
Lots of classical and funk.

Beatles or Beach Boys?
Beatles.

Favorite concert memory?
I don’t have a particular favorite memory, but I fondly recall attending random jazz or blues concerts and festivals when I lived in Chicago many years ago.  They were all wonderful and inexpensive.

Any music you’re looking forward to?
I usually discover music by accident long after it was released.

What are your hobbies outside of work?
I enjoy watching movies and spending time with my dog.  The dog doesn’t enjoy watching movies, though, so the two hobbies are largely incompatible with one another.
