Wolfe Coffee Club is a locally owned business that took flight in 2008. The owner of the drive-thru coffee house, Mark Larkin, says, “my Mom bought it in 2008, so that’s why we say since 2008.” Larkin’s journey with Wolfe Coffee Club began at a young age: “I started working here when I was like 15…When I was still going to high school, I’d come here after class and close.” With Wolfe Coffee Club firmly rooted in his youth, it should come as no surprise that Larkin has taken the business into his adulthood as well, “I just bought it from my mom like…a year and a half ago.”
Larkin has successfully transformed the coffee house into a Parkland staple, integrating his personality and style into every aspect of the Club. “I like being different, and just kind of feeding all my passions into the coffee shop, like… art and [creativity] and things like that,” Larkin says. When asked how to describe Wolfe Coffee Club in one word, employee and PLU student Luke Mulder replied, “One word? Indescribable.” The positive energy and overflowing welcomeness that Wolfe Coffee Club emanates has helped create it into the achievement that it is today.
In addition to their bright aesthetic and colorful presence, Wolfe brings something particularly unique to the coffee world. Offering house-roasted coffee and craft-brewed energy drinks, Wolfe has created something no other coffee shop has. Whether you’re in the mood for a white chocolate-cinnamon drink (the “Honeymoon”) or something fruity such as the Dream Machine, Wolfe has a drink for everyone.
On November 11th, Wolfe launched their seasonal drinks, which include a molasses gingerbread latte and a chocolate orange mocha.
At the moment, Wolfe Coffee Club has only one coffee house: located off of 129th and Pacific Avenue, a mere three minutes from Pacific Lutheran University. However, in talking to Larkin about his future hopes for Wolfe, he says, “I’d like to open maybe…two more. I want to keep it really special and unique and amazing and be able to monitor everything…”
