This week, PLUtonic, PLU’s own men’s a cappella group, helped to kick off a new series of live studio performances in preparation for their performance this Saturday at the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella regionals.
Mast Media’s own Paris Franklin and Brooke Thames hosted the first installment of this new live studio series that is being produced in partnership with Lute Air Student Radio (LASR). The new series will usually happen on Sundays and be called “Sunday Sesh” and feature live studio performances from PLU students and community artists throughout the semester.
PLUtonic started off the show with a medley of a Disney songs, arranged by PLU alumni Matt Serino. Other songs performed live included “Pie Jesu” by PLU alumni Phil Serino.
We also heard some songs from PLUtonic’s “26 Kicks” CD, including “Down”, “Low” and “Mystery Girl”.
PLUtonic and HERmonic, PLU’s women’s a cappella group, will perform this Saturday for the ICCA regionals. The event takes places in Eastvold Auditorium in the Karen Hille Philips Center for Performing Arts at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are available at Campus Concierge.
