Sunday afternoon of December 3rd started with a fire alarm for South Hall residents. The alarm in the elevator went off first, and as Campus Safety was inspecting that issue, the fire alarm started. After successful evacuation, Kris Sprinkle suggested that the alarm went off because of a “wiring issue or just a bad sensor unless someone is just trying to be funny,” a reference to the fire alarm that took place in Pflueger earlier this semester.

Sprinkle added, “Some people slept through it, that’s okay,” considering that there was no actual fire.

The month of December has had an outstanding number of fire alarms per day so far. On December 1st and 2nd Hinderlie residents had to evacuate presumably because of someone’s burned popcorn and a steaming iron.

Students can only hope that with two weeks left in the semester, their studying for finals will remain quiet and fire alarm-free.
