The Lutes Men’s basketball team carried the day on November 8th with the season’s first game against Evergreen State College. The squeak of basketball shoes on the clean gym floor, and the crowded bleachers indicated that basketball season has begun. The first half of the game was close with the Geodcucks 35 and the Lutes 38.

Caleb Grass a student at PLU said this about the game, “I thought it was a really great game our team had a lot of really great energy We had a little shaky first half but then after that first half we really turned on the gas.” The student turnout was good with the bleachers quite full.

The MAST caught up with Liam Johnston number 13 for the Lutes, “It’s always good to start out with a win first game of the season. It’s all smiles in our locker room right now.”

The Lutes had a dominating performance against Evergreen State College and did not trail at any point during the game. The final score was Evergreen State College’s 53  to PLU’s 75 points.

Liam Johnston said in closing,  “I am super excited for the rest of the season. I hope everyone can make it out to a lot of games.”
