Five people have now tested positive for COVID-19 on Pacific Lutheran University’s campus.

Since the first positive test in South Hall, two people have tested positive in Ordal Hall, one in Harstad Hall, and one campus employee.

PLU notifies the student body via their coronavirus webpage. This page is updated whenever the campus status changes in terms of positive cases or the campus status dial.

The webpage was updated on September 25 to inform the campus of the second positive case, which originated in Ordal Hall. The person participated only in remote classes and their close contacts were notified and advised on 14-day quarantines. The person was moved to an off-campus location to isolate and recover.

The next update came on September 30 and informed the campus of the third positive case, also from Ordal. This person was a close contact of the first Ordal case and had begun their quarantine when the first person received the news of their positive test. This person also moved to an off-campus location to isolate and recover.

The third update came on October 1 to inform the campus of the fourth positive case, which was located in Harstad. This person was another close contact of the first Ordal case and also began their quarantine when the first case was announced. They promptly moved to an off-campus location for isolation.

PLU’s coronavirus webpage most recently announced a fifth COVID-positive test October 6. This person is an employee of PLU and identified two close contacts. Both contacts are quarantining off campus and neither is a PLU student.
