This past Thursday night, University Singers, PLU Ringers, and the Knights Chorus joined forces to put on an excellent show for all in attendance. Hosted in Lagerquist Hall at 7:30, audience favorites included “Wolcum Yole” (Britten) from Singers, “Jesus, Jesus Rest Your Head” (John Jacob Niles) from the Knights Chorus, and “Angels from the Realms of Glory” (Dobrinski) from the PLU Ringers.

The audience watched for an hour and a half as carefully choreographed transitions carried the concert along in three movements. Each movement was separated with audience carols conducted by Drs. Walker and Johnson, in which Lagerquist’s iconic Mary Fuchs organ joined, bringing everyone together for a night of Christmas celebration.

Soloists of the night included Harry Gomes, Spencer McCray, Eric Woodsen, and the Masts’ very own Kendan Bendt of the Knights Chorus, and Lydia Mcdougall of the University Singers – as well as Faye Stock and Kaitlyn Owen of University Singers. The PLU Ringers added to the atmosphere and their bells created a gorgeous, wintery feel.

The next Christmas concert – whose tickets are already sold out – will be hosted by PLU’s Choir of the West, University Chorale, and the University Orchestra this Saturday and Sunday in Lagerquist.
